If ever there was a Scottie true to her heritage it's our"E-Vel"! This strong-willed little firecracker put Gail and handler R.C. Carusi's skills to the test. A well known Scottie judge once commented that Scotties were the most difficult dogs to show, and why? Their highly independent nature and "do what I like when I like attitude" for sure.
Back to the beginning; as Gail began to ponder a suitable first breeding for her Moxie many stud dogs came to mind. Then one day, Gail saw a very handsome dog with an incredible body, coat and stance. The dog took Gail's breath away. The dog was Fireheart's Guns and Roses (Axel). Two pups were produced from the breeding, HopelPopel Rose of Dundee(Maisie) and HopelPopel Velma of Fireheart. Axel went on to an incredible show career .
Velma grew up to be a beauty a long, clean headpiece, low to the ground, muscular body and attitude to spare. She finished with several majors to her credit.
At home, she enjoys sitting by the big oak tree for hours patiently waiting for a squirrel to emerge. She continues to supervise all the activities at Highgrove and became a new mother in April.
